Inclement Weather Information
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
The Harford County Department of Parks and Recreation will utilize the following procedure for cancellation of programs and activities during inclement weather conditions.
PARKS AND RECREATION FACILITIES:
Weekdays, during regular business hours, when Harford County Government Offices are closed, all Harford County Parks and Recreation facilities will also be closed. These facilities will also adhere to announce delayed openings or early closings as determined by Harford County Government. In addition, if a specific facility cannot be opened or remain open safely, it may be closed by the local Parks and Recreation staff. During evening hours, weekends and holidays, when Harford County Government does not have regular business hours, local recreation staff will make cancellation decisions based upon specific site conditions. Excluded is Swan Harbor Farm.
SCHOOL FACILITIES:
During weekdays when schools are closed or close early, all Harford County Parks and Recreation activities are cancelled. When schools are closed or close early on Friday, activities for that weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) will be cancelled based on the policy established by the Board of Education. If inclement weather occurs weekdays after school is dismissed and on weekends, Harford County Department of Parks and Recreation will use the snow emergency plan to determine activity status. When the snow emergency plan is in effect, activities at school sites will be cancelled.
